LB WIRE ROPES
is a family company established in 1962 when Frank Hansen and Jack Smith purchased the business from James Le Blanc,
a French-Canadian who had patented the 'Le Blanc Splice'. Co-proprietor Jack Smith retired in 1976, and Frank Hansen
retired in 1993, passing management of the company to present owners, Paul and Vivien Hansen.

The company has three divisions, Lifting
and Lashing Equipment, Brifen
Wire Rope Safety Barriers, and International
Trading.

For more than three decades LB Wire Ropes has continued to develop
strong ties with established world leaders in lifting equipment design and manufacture such as; Parson Chain Co.
(UK), manufacturers of 'Kuplex' alloy lifting chains and Trawlex alloy fishing chains; Gunnebo (Sweden), manufacturers
of 'Gunnebo' alloy chains and components; Deeweld Ltd (UK), manufacturers of 'Camlok' plate clamps; Spanset (Germany),
manufacturers of 'Spanset' webbing slings and lashing systems; Bridon Ropes (UK),
manufacturers of 'Endurance' and Dyform' high technology wire ropes, the 'Brifen' wire rope safety fences and 'Bridon
Structural Systems.'
Over the years, LB Wire Ropes has also built strong ties with local Australian manufacturers and distributors PWB
(transport chains and components, chain blocks, hoists and sheave blocks), Pacific Hoists (chain blocks, hoists
and winches), Ronstan Marine (stainless steel components) and BHP (wire ropes).
LB Wire Ropes' on-site inspection and testing section offers
comprehensive inspection repair and test facilities. These inspection and testing services can be carried out either
in-house using our 200 tonne, 13 metre test bed, or on-site using portable electronic load cells.
